Ocean Citaaay!

Exactly 1 week ago today was my roommate's birthday and we decided to go to Ocean City, MD, for the day. We both have a trip to the beach in our summer bucket lists so this was great for us to get it in early in the summer. Last year we went to Rehoboth in Delaware and it was a loooot of fun! I'm talking coolers, a bottle of patron, grapes, sunlight, stopping on roadsides to snatch corn from surrounding cornfields and throw it in the trunk sometimes having to pull the whole stalk out of the ground FUN! That kind! I was recently reading a HuffPo report on best waters in the US and Delawares are pretty high if not number 1! Come to think of it i've been to a good number of beaches in the US...Ocean City can't top Miami, but with the right group of people (a delicate combo of fam and friends) it was a blast!

I didn't have gift wrap for the present I got my roommate so the afropolitan creative in me woke up and I pulled a kanga from my new kanga reserves and a shoelace and made it do what it do:

It was blazing hot early in the day so we got a little bit of a late start (also because of the EPIC pool party we had been to the day/night before). We kept ourselves "hydrated" on the way there so upon arrival we wasted no time getting some water action.

(As good as oysters are, they're the bestest and cheapest at a beach! Tasting like fresh ocean breeze - this is the second round i slayed :p)

So all in all it was a great day and ended very very well, although we were all thoroughly pooped! Trips to the beach are always fun and the stories told, songs played, snacks munched, legs cramped along the way are all worth it! Planning to go to a beach at least 2 more times before the summer is over....we'll see how that goes!
