When you have amazing friends doing amazing things they get you on board to do amazing things! The other day I was asked to come onto HuffingtonPostLive, the new online video streaming channel on the Huffington Post website, to discuss several topics. Participants of various backgrounds and around the country and the world engage in conversations on various current hot topics. One of them was gun control! A topic which to me, like many other people, either infuriates, saddens & scares the bajeeburs out of me. It also is one of those that is soooooo talked about I get exhausted even talking about it so I don't really get into it. There are many people that feel the same way I do about what needs to be done and there are a lot who also would probably strongly disagree and that is fine - so long as they don't shoot you or me.
On the show, I contributed my 2 cents and you can watch the video here:
Although the video isn't long, you can catch me at about 4:40 :)
In total on that day I was in on 4 topics/conversations and they were:
- Junior Seau, the celebrated and retired football player & San Diego icon who completed suicide several months ago, and discoveries that he was suffering from CTE
- DC Mayor's request that the Redskins change their name if they want to move their stadium from Maryland into the district
- the shootings that happened, mind you while Joe Budden was giving a speech on gun control measures, at a high school in California that day
It never stops being a weird almost ticklish feeling to hear your own voice and see yourself on tv, but hey it was fun even though I was a little nervous!!
