Tonight I had those once in a while slow jam moods. I played and listened to a bunch of songs including Fantasia's new Lose to Win, and then Tamar Braxton's Love and War. We all know what happens once one gets on Youtube - once you pop you can't stop! Between the other songs you start remembering and those that pop up on the side you are 11 videos in and wondering what you got on looking for....
Anywhoo I ended up looking up Beyonce's 4 album so I could sing along at the top of my lungs to Ave Maria from the I Am Sasha Fierce album. Man that song!!! I had just gone through a break up I regretted doing and although I was in the window where I could reverse the decision the circumstances, distance et al just made me torture myself and keep it that way. Learnt and grew from that experience.
Those lyrics to that song were a beautiful mesh of how I had felt about myself and him together and seperately. I was so in love with that song it was always on full blast in my car and I would sing it until i cried and eventually the cd scratched and then spring and summer came and I started playing faster more upbeat songs...Listen to it below:
While we are on Beyonce, another song of hers i LOOOOOVE is Dance For You. That song is the ultimate dance for your man if you got one song. I loved it on the 4 album and then when I went to New York for my cousin's bridal shower I developed a completely new and elevated relationship with it. Yes! That serious. There was a beautiful and shy young lady that was brought as one of the guests for the bridal shower activities. She was Ah-mazing and actually choreographed one of Sean Paul's videos this year. This was my first time attending [so feel free brides to be to invite me to those kinds of parties ;) ]. Besides the other unmentionables that were discussed and done there this was one of them -->
No go out there and get your dance on!
