Boxes are for Squares

Remember when Steve Jobs died? Who doesn't right? I personally do not own any apple products, unless itunes on my pc counts, but I do remember his incredible story as told by others post mortem. One of the quotes, which might not be originally his, that really stuck with me about his determination and resulting success beyond the products was:

Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.

How powerful is that? The idea behind isn't anything brand new to those of us that struggle with our own greatness and the associated courage it takes to step out of the comfort zone. When everything in your day to day thoughts, day dreams and musings is made up of everything you are not doing it is a struggle. You have the job most would do anything to have. Surrounded by and with access to subjects and people that are amazing individually and collectively. Doing something that makes a difference in the world and being able to pay your bills that way is what is supposed to happen right?! Yes? Yes. But when you feel like that's not enough or for you and can't be it...how for do? Wetin man go do? Am I an ingrate for not being satisfied with all that I recognize I have been blessed with? I do not want to be guilty of that.

Watched a short YT video with Issa Rae of Awkward Black Girl (totally me sometimes lol) and realized that changing the world is really as simple as just doing it. Go for it! How frustratiiiiiiing! So easy to say, yet so hard. I laughed to myself because everything she said as far as the moment she just went for it is a point I could very easily be at now or have been at before. The only difference is that I didn't/haven't yet taken the leap. In the meantime we write the resolutions, create the vision boards, read the motivational books/quotes/articles, watch the videos, listen to the podcasts, favorite the tweets, email ourselves the posts, bookmark the websites and write it all out. Yes we, by that I mean I, do all that except do everything it is we are planning to do.

In the meantime, watch the video:

Now [let's] go and do *it!

*Whatever it is you know deep down you want to and haven't been doing, but need to!
